Hello Friends! I can’t believe it’s already week three of the New Year New Room Challenge! I have a few updates to share, but first. The New Year New Room Challenge was created by my friend Stephanie of Casa Watkins, it’s a great way to kick off the New Year. Every week and my fellow blog friends and I will share weekly updates on our spaces, be sure and visit the other posts linked below!

Lighting update, my second wall sconce for the dining room finally arrived, but after an electrician came over to give me an estimate and get on his schedule, he’s not sure if wall sconces will be able to go on the wall because the way my exterior wall and roofline may meet old house problems. He won’t know until he crawls into the attic or the crawlspace if the wires can be run. I really want to add wall sconces in my dining room there, my backup plan is to source wall sconces where I can use a battery-operated lightbulb if need be. Below is a quick snap of my new dining room table.
Plans this week: Over the weekend, we picked up the base cap molding for the pencil trim. We found a good scale for the size of our space and also got the MDF Board to frame out the dining room window and add a wider window sill for the updates. Once everything is installed, I’ll paint the walls and the trim. My fabric samples from Calico arrived, but the samples I was excited to see have yet to come! This project is feeling like two steps forward and two steps back…it is slow goings but I think the big changes are happening this week: The window will be trimmed, Pencil Molding installed Lighting Sconces? New Paint and artwork will be hung and fingers crossed that our new chandelier arrives and I’m organizing the drawers! Below is a reminder of my dining room design plan.
