Hello Everyone! This is supposed to be the big reveal week, sadly I’ve hit a few snags in my room refresh, sharing more details below. While I don’t have big reveal yet, for the New Year New Room Challenge, several of my blog friends have beautiful rooms, please check out their spaces. I’m pouring myself a large glass of wine tonight and reading all the blog posts, can’t wait!

Below are current quick pictures of my dining room! Over the weekend, we finished adding the pencil. It turned out so good! I still need to fill the tiny holes with wood filler, caulk all the seams, and then paint! I took a trip to a local molding shop, Mr. Moulding, and was able to locate the exact end cap molding that’s above all our doorways and cased entrances. I’m so happy we framed the window out and added the additional molding! My husband didn’t think it would make that big of a difference and it totally did!
I’d hope to have pretty mid-century modern wall scones hard-wired into my dining room, but unfortunately, it’s not going to happen, because of the roofline + my exterior wall angle which makes it super hard to install lighting on that wall with all the angles, it would require lots of holes + patchwork and be costly. Honestly, I’d rather move that money towards new dining room chairs!
Sadly the wall sconces are getting returned, I’m considering new lights with a shade that has an option of a battery-operated lighting solution. Last week our new chandelier arrived and it’s a beauty! We’re going to install it over the weekend once I finish painting. I’m also waiting on the fabric to arrive and then I’ll make the new extra-long lumbar pillow.
While my space isn’t completely refreshed, I’m still so happy with the direction it’s going in! Follow me on Instagram @thekatrinablair for real-time updates on this project!
