Relaxed Mix & Match Fall Bedding with Garnet Hill

I’m so happy it's September, I’m ready for cool fall mornings and chill weekends. If I’m completely honest lately , most days feel like weekends. With spending so much time at home, I’ve been really focusing my energy on my home, especially my bedroom. Now, I’ve never been a sleep-in kind of girl, but I’m definitely lounging in my bedroom more. For fall I’m all about comfort, mixing and matching textiles and prints. I’ve partnered with Garnet Hill to share my comfortable fall inspired bedding. I love the beautiful relaxed and natural vibe of Garnet Hill’s bedding.

I’m so excited to share how I made a beautifully comfortable bed mix and matching textiles and patterns, the more the merrier! Hands down my favorite duvets are linen, on my bed I have the Solid Relaxed-Linen duvet from Garnet Hill. Linen is one of the best options for bedding, it's a breathable fabric that naturally regulates temperature and continues to get softer after each wash. Garnet Hill’s linen duvets are 100% linen crafted in Portugal.

To add more color and contrast, I added Siesta Striped Sky Blue flat and fitted sheets. I wanted to mix up the pattern on the pillowcase so added a pair of Dusk Blue Linen Broad Stripe, it looks so good paired with the sheets! On my other pair of pillows, I added the Garnet Hill Signature Double Stripe pillowcases in fog blue.

One small task I try to do every morning is making my bed. Walking into my bedroom and seeing the beautiful made just feels good, plus it makes Sunday lounging in bed more comfortable! To add more color, I added a Light Grey Relaxed Quilted linen sham and Denim Brushed Cotton throw.

I’m a huge throw person, and I love this one! It’s super soft and I love its contrasting tassels. It's perfect on the foot of the bed, a chair in your room, pretty much anywhere it's so cozy!

Small Guest Bathroom Refresh

I’m so excited to share my small Guest Bathroom refresh! The before and after blows my mind, it's beautiful and fun now! I’ve partnered with homedepot.com/decor to transform our small guest bathroom which is also my boys shared bathroom, to give my ‘plain Jane’ bathroom a colorful update and fresh update. homedepot.com/decor is a full online-only home decor destination featuring stylish items for the home including decor items, bed & bath linens, housewares, furniture, and small appliances.

I’m so in love with this bathroom transformation, I seriously walk past this room and just stare! Our guest bathroom before was a basic box blank slate, just so-so. Trust me it had seen better days, everything in the bathroom felt flat, from the vanity with missing hardware, the artwork and lack of decor, and zero identity. Just a dull boring bathroom.

My major goals for my guest bathroom refresh include bringing in color, lots of gold, pattern, smart storage, beautiful decor, and fluffy towels! And transform this small space into a beautiful retreat-boutique-like bathroom for my guests while keeping the space fun for my boys to share. I completed a few budget-friendly DIY projects including adding board and batten on the wall and painting the existing bathroom vanity. I really love blue cabinets and fell in love with Compass Blue by Behr.

Once the vanity was painted, it felt so transformed. To continue to elevate the existing vanity, I upgraded the vanity top to the Bianco Marble Vanity Top. I'm in love with the beautiful marble veining, it's so beautiful and I love that the countertop has pre-drilled holes which made it easy for Hasani to install the Pfister Contempra, Widespread Faucet, the matte gold faucet is so perfect. While working on updating the vanity, I installed simple brushed gold pulls on the drawers and doors. To make installing the new gold pulls easy, I used a cabinet and drawer hardware template. This template saves time and frustration!

My favorite DIY project in the guest bathroom is hanging peel and stick wallpaper. The Coastal Blue Paradise Palm, Peel and Stick Wallpaper is so beautiful and fun! The pattern is rich and vibrant, it's hard to believe the wallpaper is peel and stick! It gives me a retreat-boutique hotel vibe. Installing peel & stick wallpaper is pretty easy once you get into a rhythm of handling the wallpaper, smoothing everything out, and lining the patterns up.

I absolutely love peel and stick wallpaper, it's a great affordable, and low-commit way to add pattern and whimsy into a room. Homedepot.com/decor has a large selection of peel & stick wallpaper options, I also love the handy wallpaper calculator that helps you estimate how much wallpaper your project will need.

When originally planning the bathroom refresh, I knew a large round mirror would be perfect above the vanity. The Eagan Mirror feels so perfect! I love its deep gold ledge and size, its amazing and thankfully easy to hang. I’m literally obsessed with this mirror and would look good anywhere! We used anchors and OOK Bear Claw 4-in-1 screws, this combination is my new favorite way to hang D-Ring hooks and canvas artwork. Originally, I planned for one fun light fixture above the mirror, but once it arrived I quickly realized two was better than one! The Livex Satin Brass Wall Sconces look incredible one each side of the mirror. I’m obsessed with the Coastal Blue Paradise Palm, Peel and Stick Wallpaper, Eagan Mirror, and Livex Satin Brass combination.

Once all the DIY projects were completed, I was excited to move on to the fun part of my guest bathroom refresh, bringing pretty decor pieces to compliment the bathroom updates. I found a beautiful hand-made seagrass wicker basket that fits perfectly between the vanity and toilet. The basket is a great size and perfect for holding paper towels, toilet paper, and extra face towels. I like keeping bathroom essentials in easy reach, especially for guests. Baskets are an absolute must in small bathrooms, they are perfect for holding everything from toilet paper to beauty items, plus that adds so much visual interest.

While updating the vanity, I added a Gatco Toilet Paper Holder, I love its simple lines and it totally pops against the Compass Blue vanity.

I like keeping a few towels in my bathroom for easy access, the Home Decorators Collection Gold and Marble Side Table/Stool is great for small spaces! Adding a simple stool in your bathroom helps give you additional storage options to hold towels, plants, or bathroom accessories.

I replaced the old shower curtain with a Lattice Matelasse Shower Curtain, from The Company Store it's a nice weight fabric and even though it's white the lattice pattern brings in texture.

To create a soft landing, once out of the shower I added a, Navy Bathmat, also from The Company Store. I love how the bathmat is extra plush, washable, and double-sided. In the shower, I added two plush white face cloth towels and updated the shower kit, the old shower head wasn’t getting full water pressure so updating to the Matte Gold Pfister Comtempra, Shower Trim Kit was a must and its perfect match to the Pfister Comtempra WideSpread Faucet.

To dress up the bathroom counter, I added a Four Piece Faux Marble Bathroom set, which includes a Soap Pump, Toothbrush Holder, Tray, and Bar Soap Tray (I placed the bar soap tray in my shower niche). I love this set, it looks perfectly at home on our new marble counter. I also added a large Gold Mirror Tray, not an everyday tray for my bathroom, but one I plan on using when we have guests. I like how it adds extra sparkle, plus it’s large enough to hold a few towels, etc.

I love Abstract Artwork and found the perfect framed canvas artwork on HomeDepot.com/decor, the Patches Artwork feels so good with Coastal Blue Paradise Palm, Peel and Wallpaper. Homedepot.com/decor carries a large assortment of artwork, including wall frames, framed artwork, canvas prints and wall sculptures. I’m super impressed with the quality of the beautiful canvas artwork. I seriously can’t wait for my guests to see our updated bathroom!

I love how all these updates make our guest bathroom feel special and so much bigger! Our guest bathroom feels so special now, it's colorful, bright, open, and beautiful. Just another reason why I love the bathroom, the new wall sconces look beautiful both on and off.

hdh-kb-17.jpg

I'm so in love with how everything turned out and received the biggest compliment from my boys, they love the bathroom too!

I love how simple quick updates can really change the look and feel of a space, by adding peel and stick wallpaper in my guest bathroom it helps give the small space a boutique hotel vibe. I can’t get over how amazing the wallpaper looks, it's truly an affordable and low-commitment way to change the look of a room. The Coastal Blue Paradise Palm, peel and stick wallpaper paired with the abstract artwork and large gold mirror and soft touches of the shower curtain and fluffy towels really bring the entire look together and I couldn't be happier!

I can't wait to hear your thoughts about what you think about everything! What’s your favorite update in my guest bathroom?
