One Room Challenge: Week Five, Everything Comes Together

Well, I can’t believe its already week five of the One Room Challenge. Looking around my bedroom last night made me super proud, even though its currently a HOT MESS, I’m its crazy town. Boxes are everywhere, everything is everywhere and that’s perfectly ok! But let’s back up before I share more details, just in case your new around here and are totally confused about what I’m talking about.

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE // HOW IT WORKS

ORC is a bi-annual event taking place every Spring and Fall, hosted by Linda Weinstein of Calling it Home and Media Partner Better Homes & Gardens, so it’s kind of a big deal! Every Thursday, on my blog for six consecutive weeks, I’ll share how the space I’m tackling is taking shape. I will share my design process from start to finish (painting, DIY Projects, shopping, etc.). On November 7th, I’ll share my room reveal, along with a round-up of all the goodies that helped my design come together. I also share lots of ‘behind the scenes’ of my project on Instagram Stories, please follow along there too!

WEEK FOUR // BEDROOM UPDATES

  • Over the weekend we installed Crown Molding and it looks so so good! We kept it simple and decided on Craftsman Crown Molding. The simple lines look good with our doors and molding above our doorways. We had some drama with the project, our nail gun stopped working and ending up renting a nail gun and air compressor and one of our 16ft long crown molding pieces flew off our truck. BUT we got it all done!

  • All the crown molding is done and painted - I still have 1-2 two corners that need a little love

  • The artwork was printed and framed

  • All the bedding & other bedroom goodies arrived! I’m so very happy, I splurged a little our duvet and it felt good

  • Our new bedroom lighintg from Lumens arrived and OMG

WEEK FIVE // TO-DO LIST

  • Hang and Hem Drapes

  • Paint My Dresser, BUT I’m might go on the hunt for a new-to-me dresser, I’d love a vintage or streamlined Mid Century Modern on

  • Install new light fixtures! Our new lights from Lumens arrive on Tuesday and I’m so excited!

ARTWORK FOR MY MASTER BEDROOM // I want to keep the artwork simple and allow the walls to breathe. I love the idea of laying more artwork into my bedroom overtime. I’m a huge fan of mixing abstracts artwork with photography. I wanted to keep the photos a little personal, so its a mix of places we love and personal family photos. I’m so grateful for Etsy, they are so many amazing artists to discover to adorn your walls. To keep everything within budget, I printed all the art downloaded from Etsy at Costco. I’ll have links for everything that can be linked on the blog next week, for the reveal. I really feel every pair so well together with our master bedroom furniture, a quick reminder.

All of our new furniture is from my Design Collaboration partner Scandinavian Designs. For our bedroom, we went with the Tambur Bed in Queen, I love that its a fully upholstered bed with pretty feet that give the bed an upgraded look. The bed gives our bedroom an instant upgraded feel. For side tables we selected the Holfred Nightstand and Holfred End Table, I decided to mix and match out bedroom side tables and tailor them to our needs & personal style. I wanted to add a simple chair in our bedroom and fell in love with the Eilert Chair, the leather is a warm buttery tan and so comfortable. In addition to our chair. I came across the Raholt Woven Stool and knew it would be perfect for my bedroom. I love adding cozy toches in spaces, and the Nesbyen Throw is perfect. Scandinavian Designs has so many great pieces and I love how amazing they look in my bedroom. What some peaks at our new bedroom furniture, check out last week’s post HERE.
