This and That

It's been a quiet two weeks on the blog side of things, I haven't had a quiet moment lately to sit and blog about current projects that we've been slowly working on and planning. Spring is just around the corner and I'm so excited to start tackling some projects both indoor and outdoor. A few outdoor projects include: Vegetable Garden, Building a Trellis for Vines, Creating a relaxing outdoor space and plant flowers and bushes in the front of our house etc. Over the past few months our backyard has been completely transformed, can't wait to share progress pictures next week and share what are next phase of our plans are. I realized the other day and I have yet to share a proper picture of how our the front of our home looks now, I'll be sharing that next week along with additional plans we have for the front our house.

On the inside of our house, I've been working on Avery's gallery wall I mentioned I wanted to complete a few weeks ago. I've also been working on sprucing up our 'plain slate' master bathroom, I'll share a in progress picture next week. In addition, I've been ordering fabrics, sewing pillows and finally getting some order in my kitchen cabinets more on that next week.

For the past few months, I've been dreaming of creating a similar outdoor space on our patio. I scanned and saved this image from Crate & Barrel fall of 2013 catalog. I love how relaxed and the outdoor dining and seating area feels. I also love the mixture of the natural wood finish outdoor furniture tied in with the grey outdoor dining table. I can already picture dining outside Spring though the falls months. One of my goals is to create and living and dining areas outside our home, so it feels like and extension of our the inside of our home.

So much to share next week! Have you been planing or working on any Spring projects for your home?

Gallery Wall Ideas for Kids Rooms

Hi Everyone, sorry for my lack of posts this this week & last! I've been sick, its now the third time for me so far this year, and Avery's been sick too. No fun at all! I'm finally getting back in the swing of things and brainstorming projects I want to tackle around our house. I mentioned a few months back, I was thinking about creating a gallery wall for Avery's room. I recently started buying frames for his gallery wall, and started looking though my Pinterest boards for inspiration.

I adore the the gallery wall believe, its all about creativity and framing the little artists masterpieces. I also love how the colorful artwork speaks for itself and the frames fade into the background.

This gallery wall has some major impact ceiling to floor, I'm typically not a huge fan of floor to ceiling gallery walls, but in here it just works.

By far this is one of my favorite kids room with a simple and well placed gallery wall above the bookcases. I pretty much love everything about this little boys space: the use of pattern and color, all those organized books and toys! Just love!

This is such a cute and fun gallery wall above the bed! It just makes you smile and its so full of personality.

Gallery walls can get expensive, frames add up and so does the artwork to fill up those frames.  I created a small gallery wall in Avery's nursery before the fire, and I'm hoping to create a new one that's geared toward his personality with art he likes and makes him smile along with framing his own masterpieces. I'm a big believer in framing kids artwork and having a room that reflects the child's personality. This weekend, I plan to start working on the layout for his gallery wall and getting those frames up, even if some are empty! Sometimes half the battle in projects in the first push to get things started. I'll be sure and share the progress, next week.
