One Room Challenge: Week Three // Master Bedroom, Paint, Furniture and More

Week Three of the One Room Challenge kicks off today and I’m so excited to share all the progress. But, first, before I dive into the week and so more bedroom news, a quick reminder about what makes the One Room Challenge so special

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE // How it Works

ORC is a bi-annual event taking place every Spring and Fall, hosted by Linda Weinstein of Calling it Home and Media Partner Better Homes & Gardens, so it’s kind of a big deal! The challenge isn’t competition its a celebration of ideas and cheering everyone in completing a space in a tight deadline. Its that little push we all sometimes need to transform a space. I work better under the pressure of a deadline. Plus with everyone cheering each other along, you don’t feel alone in the process.

Every Thursday, on my blog for six consecutive weeks, I’ll share how the space I’m tackling is taking shape. I will share my design process from start to finish (painting, DIY Projects, shopping, etc.). On November 7th, I’ll share my room reveal, along with a round-up of all the goodies that helped my design come together. I also share lots of ‘behind the scenes’ of my project on Instagram Stories, please follow along there too!

In my blog post last week, I shared the bedroom layout along with my to-do list. With furniture arriving this week from Scandinavian Designs, it’s time to share my Master Bedroom Design Plan I’m having a pinch-me moment because I love Scandinavian Designs, we’ve bought our last three sofas from them + another home accessories! I love their modern timeless quality pieces; their stores are a dream to visit and you can also shop them online. I’m beyond thrilled they are my Design Partner on the One Room Challange, it feels like a dream!

As I mentioned, I’m sharing a lot of my ORC behind the scenes on my Instagram Stories and I can’t wait to share my recent shopping trip at Scandinavian Designs that helped me select our furniture for our master bedroom. I’m so excited about our new bed, the Tambur bed is fully upholstered and feels upgraded with the dark legs. think the deep grey fabric will be a nice statement in our bedroom. I’m pairing the Tambar bed with Holfred side tables, I opted to do mix and match styles for my bedroom. Hasani and I have been wanting a chair in our bedroom for ages and when we saw the Eilert Chair in person we fell in love. I can’t wait for all these beauties to arrive and see how my look in my bedroom. For our bedroom lighting, I’m thrilled to my Design Collaboration Partner is Lumens Light and Living, they have a beautiful selection of modern lighting for your entire home. The Lumens showroom in downtown Sacramento is beautiful and incredibly inspiring.

MASTER BEDROOM PROGRESS

So much progress has been made in my bedroom over the weekend, my bedroom & bathroom walls are fully painted. I painted my bedroom Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams a warm deeper grey than my old wall color, I LOVE how the color turned out. The trim in my bedroom needed a paint refresh, I’m re-painting all the trim in my bedroom Swiss Coffee by Kelly Moore in Semi-Gloss. I also finished painting my master bedroom Downtown Grey by Bher and the color looks so good! My HANDy Paint Tray and HANDy Paint Pail have been super helpful in getting my painting task done without the mess.
